Episode 93: "Fuck It"

I like the new Blue Beetle, he has fun, he's powerful, his family and friends know his secret and overall support him, but why name him Blue Beetle? What is it with comics that once a character gets killed, discontinued, leaves, that the name has to be used again. Trademarks, probably, but if they had colored him different or given him a different bug, readers wouldn't be comparing him to Ted Kord or to Dan Garett.

No, we need more of The Boys, less of the same recycled repetitive stories and generic characters.

Hey, don't incriminate me based on my personality.

Are you tempting me to go to the 2 people talking's porch? Titles like "Angie likes...", tempting.

So you're a "slave boy" if you don't agree with Da Fixter? And I'm racist cause I don't agree with you that Memin is racist?

To quote an unreliable source, "That I used the word, 'nigger.' But do you know how many black people use that word? He has to hate whole bunch of black people. Ironically, that means he has to hate 90% of black people in the United States." I'm just quoting.

That's a nightmare, Rob Liefeld drawing Watchmen. Image how much bigger and bulkier the Comedian's shoulder pads would have been. Liefeld sketches, doesn't draw. Note in New Mutants, the tracer wasn't just tracing but drawing in details, not the best but better than Liefeld's later stuff.

Wait a sec, Tim, you're praising Ennis?!

Tek Knight has flying tech.

There were 19 911 hijackers on 4 planes, that meant 4 or 5 on each flight. Supposely they killed several flight attendants and the pilots with knives. May have also used mace or something similar. Claimed they were carrying bombs and locked themselves in the cockpits, that's probably why the people were just sitting there. They expected to live as long as they cooperated. Except United Airline flight 93, they learned thru cell calls that several planes had already been flown into buildings so they risked going against the hijackers.

Raping Sarah Palin will just get her pregnant with another "Trig" baby.

That's how you are supposed to judge people. On the content of their character.

I don't give a fuck.

Trust me. I'm right on this. I fyou see a hot black chick that you want to spend time with, or a black person, you want to do business with, don't have your copies of Memin lying around.

DaFixer is a mental midget. He needs to "fix" his speech impediment.

"To quote an unreliable source,"

You know how I feel about blacks using the word as opposed to whites. But you don't know how many blacks use the word. Even the most fervent, upscale, anit-N-word, professional, pro-black-black person will use the word once in awhile amongst blacks only. Even Oprah's BFF Gail, admitted to herself and friends (not Oprah) using the word. And that is cupposed to be one classy negress.

If they changed Blue Beetle's to Red Roach or Orange Beetle or Blue Butterfly, then that would be a DIFFERENT and whole new superhero. Then they'd have to get whoever came up with the 'new concept' to sign over the 'new' name. Fuck it. 'Blue Beetle'. We own that. And even if someone creates a new character around it, they can't take Jaime Reyes character anyplace or meep the character. DC own Reyes by virtue of his name.

And I know Xantes knows the folowing, but I am gonna write it anyway:

The original Daredevil can't be called that because Marvel has the right to the name. Now he is Death Defying 'Devil. Same with the relatively newly christened Shazam, who was the original Captain Marvel. And then there is Marvel's Champions. Marvel lost the right to use that name to a small company. Names cost a lot to these companies. They paid for it, they are keeping it. It allows them to keep franchises intact and it had name recogniton power.

Yeah, but you make it seem like I've done stuff I haven't.

Actually when I was about 14 and went to visit my grandma, she used to give copies of Memin to her neighbors after she read them. One of them a was a really hot 18 year old black girl, who loved Memin.

Ergo, G-coast vs. G-style using the word is in context.

Yes it would have been a different superhero, but isn't Blue Beetle-Jamie different from Blue Beetle-Ted, except for the name what do they have in common? I'm not talking about changing it now. Talking about if they had name him different back when they created the new Blue Beetle. Maybe called him red Beetle and gone into the whole spectrum of beetles.

Hot chick= airhead. Hardly representative of most black folk.

>>Ergo, G-coast vs. G-style using the word is in context.>>

I never said those fools wouldn't use the word. I said THE CHARACTERS THEMSELVES are out of context. They wouldn't even be in the story. The characters were out of context.

It's like putting a character to represent Oprah Winfrey in my story about Gladiators in ancient Greece. Just so I could bag on Oprah and her audience.

Actually she became a doctor.

>>I never said those fools wouldn't use the word. I said THE CHARACTERS THEMSELVES are out of context. They wouldn't even be in the story. The characters were out of context.<<

Actually you did, you said they had no reason to use the word and Ennis was using it as an opportunity to use the word. So you're saying you want less black characters in your comics? How are they out themselves out of context? They were stolen at random to be used on the teams.

>>It's like putting a character to represent Oprah Winfrey in my story about Gladiators in ancient Greece. Just so I could bag on Oprah and her audience.<<

On Oprah - Dude I would love to see that. Like a side show in-between the arena fights. "Everyone check under your seats, there you will find a set of reins to your new Mercury chariot!"

On "Just so I could bag on..." - Ummm, did you miss the point of The Boys. Doesn't everyone get bagged on?

back on Oprah - "Today on Oprah - We'll be talking to some of the women and men who took part, unwillingly, in some of perversions of the assassinated Emperor Caligula and how there are doing now 6 years after his death."

That question is like your boss wiping his ass with your paycheck before he gives it to you. And when you complain he says "What you don't want to get paid?"

If they are like G-Coast and G-Style, then yes I want less black characters in my comics.

And I'd rather have less black actors working if it meant a chance to cut all black characters from BS like Green Mile, Legend of Bagger Vance and Driving Miss Daisy.

>>How are they out themselves out of context?>>

I answered that question a thousand times already. See previous posts.

I get direct deposit. But I work for Transit so it always feels like my money has been dragged thru someone's ass.

Yeah and I've rebutted you on you're previous arguments. You've said they are out of context but it seems more like you don't understand what "out of context" means. I think you should just say it's cause you are sensitive to a white guy using black people to say "nigger" cause Da Fixter say that word is bad. Or is it that Ennis is making 40 acres and a mule out of the use of "nigger," while black people are driving around looking for cheap chicken. Cheap fried chicken that is.
