Mutant Massacre fits cause the kids in Power Pack lived in New York City. Franklin dreamed that Leach was in trouble, so they went to help him.

Larry Hamas' record- "and then served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers from 1969 to 1971, during the Vietnam War, where he became a firearms and explosive ordinance expert." -Wiki

Hippies went to war whether they wanted to or not. If they didn't they had the option of jail or Canada.

Perhaps it's an hommage to Apocalypse Now. Why so bias? If you like something you say it's a hommage or an Easter Egg. If you don't then they are ripping it off. How could they be ripping it off if it was so blatant to the majority of it's readers? Readers interested in the Vietnam War and reading 'Nam would have probably seen Apocalypse Now.

Doug Murray also served in the Vietnam War.

Mike Myers(the last letter) agrees with you too that the radio was stupid too.

But here's the thing, when I first read this story I thought Wash was mentally handicapped probably with a form of autism, partly because I knew about the Moron Corps. He just seemed backwards.

Why you are always trying to make it a matter of race I don't know. Is it a black thing? You should review issues 35-39 if you really want to see some race issues.

Yeah, 'Nam (and GI Joe ARAH) was one of the main books that I read back then and I was shaking my head listening to you, Tim, dogging on Hama. 2 years in Vietnam and you don't think he knows what he's talking about??? Like Xantesfire said, try another issue, not everything in a series is going to be the best. I'm just going to chaulk this episode as not one of your best and we'll be even :P
