Tim, I love JD. JD is fucking crazy! I hope he's getting paid by Ain't it Cool, because it sounds like he lives at that website. Talkbacks are crazy, but the whole internet is filled with these crazy ass i-muscled cowards, so I'm not that impressed.

By the way, J.J. ABRAMS DIDN'T DIRECT CLOVERFIELD! You could have all the opinions you want on it, but I won't let you get away with putting J.J. in the director's chair. Light his ass up on whatever else he's directed if you want.

I thought that Tim Story is a joke. He had Silver Surfer nailed, but FF2 WASTED a potentially great story. Fucking storm cloud. Leave the smoke monsters to "Lost." Also, the worst moment in movie history goes to Mr. Fantastic dancing.

JJ was responsible for Cloverfield. His concept his backing, it's early promotions used his name to rocket people's interest in the movie. Far as I'm concerned, it's a JJ abrams movie. He didn't have time to do the day to day directing so they hired that other guy to sit in the director's chair. A warm body.

Alright, that's basically what I've read and heard as well; but I think that he basically took dudes that he's worked with on TV and made an approximation of himself as director of Cloverfield. Still ain't precisely like him being there. He outsourced his shit, more or less.

I don't know why people were down on this like it didn't deliver. I haven't seen a fucking giant monster movie in my life that was anything more than stuff gets destroyed and you follow some humans to feel like you're represented.

Here are the top 2 criticisms average people give of Cloverfield

1) "We didn't get to see the whole monster." No one promised you that.

2) "The actors weren't good." Fucking. Monster. Movie. I thought they were alright, just whatever. They were just monster fodder. Fuck 'em. Show me a monster flick that had outstanding acting.

I say:
Let's answer that by jumping foward to your answer to the 2nd comment:

Fucking. Monster. Movie.

If you swat the head off of the Statue of Liberty in your promo, then you better darn well show me what did the swatting

If it's a "fucking monster movie" , then show me the fucking monster.

I say:
Uh...If they ain't gonna show much of the monster, then they better keep me entertained in the interim. And good acting always helps. No...it is essential. If the acting in the old universal horror movies or the 50's B-Horror movies wasn't oscar worthy, it was campily good.

Also i hate the excuse that just because a movie is horror or scifi that bad acting and cliche witing (Doomsday movie) can be excused.

That is like saying "My movie had sublevel writing, grade D acting and horrible camera work because it was SUPPOSED to be bad. It's a monster MOVIE!"

Also, GOOD monster movie: King Kong, the original, not the remake. Even though the remake is good if you skip the first hour start the movie when they get to the island. And there you go, Vichus. A monster movie with good acting: Naomi Watts.

You see quite enough of the monster to be satisfied. One of the things I enjoyed about Cloverfield was that it wasn't a CGI fest where we see some fake thing jumping around. CGI is sometimes used too much where you end up feeling that you're basically playing a video game and not experiencing something that you want to believe is real.

The acting in Cloverfield wasn't bad like people exaggerate. I think that they weren't likeable, because they appeared to be upper class 20-somethings.

Tim, you can't say much on this though, 'cause you haven't seen it! Get on it already. See the damn thing. The sequel rumors and hype's already begun:

Cloverfield? I'll pass. I'd rather watch Suckerfield again:

Come on! You know that no film can compare to Sukerfield!
