Great episode. Lots of good various topics brought up. Nice back & forth as well. Awesome to have Courtney back in the podosphere.

Robert Downing Jr. is the greatest actor of our time? I hope you're being facetious. If not, Gary Oldman & Daniel Day Lewis say hi.

Girls are so lucky when it comes to cinema. Because most movies have leading men, girls get that extra eye candy factor that enhances their experience. Fuck you, Hollywood! I want more leading ladies in film. I don't need to fantasize that I'm the lead male character in a movie. I much rather be engaged by a fine ass woman. Hollywood = Chicken Shit

I too get irked with the "realistic" generic black leather outfits. X-Men movies are the worst offenders of this. And I would've loved Rise of Cobra even more if they had colorful costumes similar to the cartoon,

Just saw the post credit ending on youtube. That was very underwhelming. Very.

Avatar is a good movie. Right guys? C'mon, right? ;)

How much do you guys think Iron Man 2 is gonna make this weekend. I'm guessing it will hit Dark Knight numbers with around 160m.

Nice false ending(s) editing. It's like Return of the King all over again.

Never read the Kick-Ass comic but that ending sounds a lot more satisfying. On the other hand, the movie alteration gave us that awesome(best scene in the movie) strobe light action set piece. I still can't believe they managed to evoke that level of pathos with just that one sequence. Too bad most of the movie failed to reach that level of greatness.

Can't wait for that debate between Courtney and TCM. Should be fun. And I'm glad there's no beef between them. All is right in the THOOM!/PCX world of podcasting.

No, Robert Downing Jr isn't the greatest actor of our time, but Robert DOWNEY Jr. is.

At least he's somewhere in the top ten, along with Pacino, Streep and the others you named.

What? That whole movie was great. The second viewing was better than the first when I realized the badassness of the TALKING scene (in Red Mist's car) between Kick-Ass and Hit Girl (after the strobe scene):

KICKASS: You can't continue this life. We have to get you back to a normal life, in a stable environment.

HITGIRL: I got 3 million dollars in a suitcase. Is that "stable" enough for you?

HA HA! Go Hit Girl!

You like me, you really like me!
It warms my cold black heart to know that you actually miss me even when I disappear, even briefly.

I was suprised because I didn't even notice I had been gone for that long. I thought all those PCX episodes featuring myself would have made you sick of me.

I haven't commented on the last few PCX episodes because they are solo ones.
But I am eternally faithful to TCM, there's never been a "beef" between us...Oh science, my brain turned that sentence foul.

I'm quite pleased with how this episode turned out. I didn't prepare anything before hand as I usually do. Which you could probably tell by the amount of "um's", "likes" and drawn out "aaannnddd's".
Might just be a little critical though.
But I had plenty to say. I'm a bit like a mad scientist, hide in my lab away from the world for days and weeks on end without conversing with a single soul, but so many ideas form in my mind that I just have to express to the right audience.
That's why I didn't realise my absence from here.

How can we not like you. A highly opinionated, well spoken girl who digs all the cool geek stuff we're into. The very fact that you're not afraid of TCM and have formed a friendship with him gives you lots of bonus points as well. Plus, you're hot.

Dang, I think that's the second time I made that mistake on the comments section. Pretty indicative of how I feel about RDJ. He's a good actor but I feel more often than not, he plays the same type of role. Y'know, that sardonic smart-ass: Iron Man, IM2, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Zodiac, Charlie Bartlett, Sherlock Holmes(w/ British accent), A Scanner Darkly, etc. It works for him, so I guess I can't blame him for taking the roles. I just don't think he's one of the best working actors today.

Is that an implication that I'm adverse to dialogue scenes and only like action? C'mon man, I dig dialogue driven movies like Inglourious, Death Proof, In Bruges, Before Sunrise/Sunset
(which essentially is 2 people walking & talking), etc. I like films with good, engaging dialogue but I can appreciate an action set piece just as much. I get the feeling I'm reading way too much into your post.

I like that part as well. Pretty much all scenes with Hit Girl worked for me. It's the moments with Kick-Ass that didn't. They were so damn pedestrian and average. I feel like if someone said "I'm making an R-rated movie that takes the piss out of the super hero genre", then Kick-Ass(minus Hit Girl scenes) would be that movie. It's the easy, standard satire one would come up with. It doesn't help that there are glimpses of greatness. Every time I was getting into the movie, I would get thrown back out to the bland world of Kick-Ass & friends.

That's cool, brother. I'm just expressing how I felt about the movie. I did enjoy it but not to the extent that you did.

There were black cowboys.

I thought they began to show movies outside the US to gauge the possible reaction and plan accordingly.

Deadpool-a blend of Spidey and Terminator. Yellow talk box, later Liefeld tried other colored talk boxes like orange and purple, what are purple and orange voices suppose to sound like? I guess yellow is suppose to be sickly. But that's how he tried to be original.

There are people out there trying to be superheroes.

You forget Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite, Superman lost his powers but he kept playing the hero.

Will it be debating the icons or the out of left field stories?
