American Psycho is the sexiest movie ever made!

No, that would actually be Natural Born Killers. The novel your movie was based on, on the other hand, was fucking awesome. I'm judging the American Psycho film on the sixty seconds I saw of it (which is only fair, since that's how much time you give new actors playing the Doctor to impress you), but I feel pretty safe in assuming they cut my favorite part of the book (where Bateman kills a bitch and makes her severed head blow him) out of the screenplay.

Speaking of Doctor Who, if you couldn't watch one minute of Matt Smith, there's no way I'm believing you've actually watched one second of any pre-Eccleston Who. Although apparently, you've seen a still photo of either the sixth or seventh Doctor (the two that occasionally carried an umbrella) that clearly left an impression.

PS to Courtney:

Torchwood isn't cancelled; as the producer says, "We're simply moving countries."

Although I don't think anyone who doesn't watch Doctor Who as well should be allowed to watch Torchwood...

I grew up watching the original Doctor, William Hartnell. Then I skipped straight to Eccleston.
I like Doctor Who, but I wouldn't say I'm a hardcore fan.

You're right, that scene is not in the movie but should have been.
Whatever, Christian Bale was hot and crazy.
Hang on, he's like that in real life...

Wait a sec. Spoiler-I only saw the ending of American Psycho, wasn't it all just him imagining everything?

In Fight Club, he did face reality, that's why he fought off Tyler. Like people don't support crazy people? They may not know he had a split personality, but they knew he was crazy. They saw him punching himself as a guy needing to feel something real. And that's why they joined him. Split are sometimes conscious of the other.

Courtney, I am a hardcore Who fan, and as much as I might like most of the old run myself, I'm a little surprised that a kid in the 90s or whatever would have the patience for those old 60s black-and-white episodes at all. I mean, attention spans have shrunken so badly, I hear there was one girl who struggled to sit through just five minutes of Coraline!

Xantes, Ugh, that's how they ended the movie? That's always a lame ending! In fact, nobody watch Boxing Helena - they totally ruined the awesome misogynist story of a guy who keeps chopping body parts off a bitch until she of course falls in love with him with exactly one of those lame, "Oh, it was all just a dream!" bullshit endings.

Fight Club was brilliant. I find Tim's movie math (Jonah Hex > Fight Club) highly questionable.

Listening back to this episode it's evident that Tim just doesn't get psychopaths or the appeal of them at all.
You're supposed to like the protagonists of American Psycho and Fight Club.

He's too straight-laced, there's not a morally questionable bone in his body.

On a different, but somewhat related note, I finally got around to watching Se7en yesterday. It was so fucking awesome.
The pacing could have been tighter and the first half an hour could have been removed entirely.
But once the fucked up stuff starts happening it's all good.

Such a perfect plan, that's got to be one of the best endings too.

I imagine a Nolan version of the Riddler would be very much like John Doe.

A friend of mine told me his idea for the plot of the next Batman film.
The Riddler starts commiting crimes and leaves messages indicating that he knows a big secret.
Everyone assumes that it's Batman's true identity but it turns out the Riddler has been keeping Harvey Dent alive and hidden in Arkham Asylum.

The way he told it was better, but you get the idea.

That idea sounded like something JD would come up with.

I said I liked American Psycho.

Boxing Helena was just a dream, also? Damn you Catcher in the Rye!

So what you liked American Psycho, is it because none of it really happened? Actually I don't think you understood it. It's obvious you didn't understand Fight Club.

Oh please, JD's version would consist of having Chinese Batgirl getting raped(not so bad), then an angel showing up and rescuing Batman(Lame) and then it kills the world's homosexual population(Bad for K.)

I understood Fight Club. I just didn't like it.

But since you think I'm not 'sophisticated' enough to understand these simple, nihilistic movies and I choose not to buy into the destructive philosophy of stories thought up by borderline pyschotics, then don't listen to THOOM. This show is beneath you.

Go build a rocket or perform brain surgery or something.

XantesFire said...

Not true. If you understood the underlying reasoning to Fight Club you would understand why they followed him, no matter how crazy he seemed.

Courtney, I dunno, Tim did go to the funeral service or whatever that was of gay child rapist Michael Jackson...

And I liked Se7en. Then again, I'd like any movie where Gwyneth Paltrow gets her head chopped off.

Thoom not morally questionable? Oh, please, just in episode 160, he declared that he supports Wyclef Jeans embezzling funds meant for starving homeless little children so he can pay off his own bill at 5 stars hotels.

In addition to going to the funeral of Mike Jackson, it just shows Thoom has a pattern of either forgiving or enjoying celebrity sleaze.

Plus he associates with TCM, if that's not questionable I don't know what is.

Couldn't agree more. Anyone who associates with me is clearly morally suspect.

Yeah, just look at me. I used to be at best psychotic, now I'm a full blown psychopath!
